The Castle Irish Pub & Restaurant in College Park

By Cassady Quintana

Having opened its doors in September, this culinary gem has swiftly become a beloved destination. As customers step into the Irish haven that is The Castle Irish Pub and Restaurant, they are greeted not only by exceptional cuisine but also by the warm embrace of a community hub that captures the spirit of College Park. Let's check out their deeply rooted history, and what they have to offer!

The History

The roots of The Castle Irish Pub and Restaurant trace back to the county of Kilkenny in the South East of Ireland, where the Hoynes, the proud owners, were raised in hospitality. Having grown up surrounded by the timeless grandeur of Kilkenny Castle, one of the world's most renowned castles and the medieval capital of Ireland, the Hoynes were inspired to bring a piece of their Irish heritage to College Park.

Their familial connection to the pub trade spans generations, with great-grandparents who once operated a thriving establishment—a pub/grocers/hardware store—in the quaint town of Thomastown. For the Hoynes, providing warm hospitality is not just a business; it's ingrained in their very DNA, a cherished tradition carried forward from the heart of Ireland to the heart of Florida.

The menu reflects a commitment to authenticity, with carefully selected ingredients that capture the essence of Irish home-cooked meals.
