Travel + Leisure Co. officially opened its new global headquarters at 501 W. Church St. on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The move from its former offices at 6277 Sea Harbor Drive included more than 900 employees, marking the most significant influx of high-wage jobs into downtown Orlando since EA relocated 700 employees to its Creative Village studio in 2021.

The relocation is the result of a capital investment of more than $36 million by the company, along with city incentives aimed at growing Orlando’s high-wage job market.
Travel + Leisure employs 19,000 global associates and operates a portfolio of vacation ownership and lifestyle travel brands. Its 183,000-square-foot headquarters formerly housed HD Supply and is owned by Piedmont Office Realty Trust, Inc. A seven-month buildout resulted in amenities that include a gym, learning and development spaces, a cafe, and an employee health clinic with an on-site physician.
Office amenities include a first-floor cafe.
Employees have access to a 2,300-square-foot gym with weights, fitness machines and locker rooms.

A first-floor flex-space can be divided into sections for meetings, events, and training sessions.

A selection of conference rooms are offered on every floor.
Each floor features themed areas based on Travel + Leisure resort destinations.
Investing in Orlando
Travel + Leisure Co. President & CEO Michael Brown speaks at the grand opening of the company headquarters.
The grand opening event ended with Orlando Magic mascot Stuff repelling down the side of the building.

After the grand opening event, Travel + Leisure Co. president & CEO Michael D. Brown spoke to The Orlando Real about some of the reasons behind the relocation.
“We saw this as a great opportunity to be more accessible, as opposed to being in a corporate park,” he said, “and to be more engaged in the community even though we’re a global company.”
He also noted plans to expand Travel + Leisure’s Orlando employee base to 1,000 positions, and to foster future partnerships with local businesses and educational institutions. The Travel + Leisure Co. Charitable Foundation works with schools in low-income communities to identify students eligible for scholarships that cover college tuition and expenses.
A new destination?
Central Florida currently hosts Travel + Leisure resort brands, including Margaritaville Vacation Club, Accor Vacation Club, and Worldmark by Wyndham. When asked whether Orlando could soon host one of the company’s Sports Illustrated Resort locations, Brown said the region was in line with current SI Resort cities, Nashville, Chicago, and Tuscaloosa.
“We’ve identified what we think would be great sports towns and leisure locations,” he said. “We see Orlando as a great vacation destination with great sports teams. So when we consider where people want to go and enjoy sports, we absolutely have Orlando on the list of places we’re interested in.”
