Vida Cocina & Tequila Now Open in Altamonte Springs

By Cassady Quintana

Vida Cocina & Tequila has emerged as the newest hot spot Altamonte Springs has to offer, serving up modern Mexican cuisine and drinks. Having just opened in late 2023, the restaurant is already booming with business, and for good reason. We were asked to come out and give it a try so let’s dive in!

Inside the Restaurant

The decor was straight-up Instagram-worthy – neon signs adding a pop of color, trees bringing a touch of the outdoors inside, and enough hanging lights to make it feel like a stylish backyard party. The ambiance was spot-on, creating a laid-back vibe that makes you want to kick back and relax. And whoever curates their playlist deserves a gold star. It was the kind that made us dance without even realizing it.

The culinary experience transcends traditional Mexican fare, embracing tradition with a modern twist. We started out with the Santa Trio, an appetizer featuring a trio of flavors – the creamy Guacamole Fresco, the savory Esquites (street corn dip), and the rich, velvety Queso Dip. (We couldn’t get enough of these.)

For the main course, the Birria Tacos and Steak Arrachero Fajitas showcased an innovative approach to traditional favorites. The Birria Tacos, bursting with succulent shredded meat and flavorful consommé, were perfectly executed and accompanied by Mexican rice and beans.

Meanwhile, the Steak Arrachero Fajitas were served in a sizzling pan and included perfectly grilled steak, peppers, and onions with all the fixings.

To finish our meal, we indulged in the Volcan De Dulce De Leche, a sinfully good dulce de leche lava cake. Trust me when we say, it was the best cake we have ever had. Paired with three churros and coconut ice cream, we could have just come for the dessert and been satisfied. It is definitely a must try!

From the exceptional cuisine and friendly staff to the captivating decor, every aspect of the restaurant contributes to a memorable dining escapade. As we reluctantly left, we couldn't help but plan our next visit because, let's be real, once you've had this, it's tough to want anything else.
