Winter Park Biscuit Company

By Yasmene Warren

Arby’s is well known for “having the meats,” but this biscuit-selling restaurant is known for the exact opposite! Winter Park Biscuit Company is a one-of-a-kind, completely vegan restaurant located in Winter Park’s East End Market, and biscuits aren’t the only thing on the menu!

What and Where is it?

Winter Park Biscuit Company is a local small business located at the front of Winter Park’s East End Market on Corrine Drive. This shop is one of many in the East End Market and offers a fully vegan menu.

Winter Park Biscuit Company serves some dishes with meat alternatives such as Gardein and Impossible. Gardein is soy and gluten protein based, and Impossible is soy protein based. This company also has dishes with egg substitute, and for that, they use Just Egg, which is completely plant-based.

The All-vegan Menu

Just as its website states, Winter Park Biscuit Company is “not just biscuits.” On the shop’s menu, you’ll find four main sections: Brioche Bun, Sub Roll, Biscuits and Specialties.

Try a “Crispy Chik Sandwich,” a “Death Valley Chik Sandwich,” or a “WPBC Burger” for a taste of the Gardein and Impossible chicken and beef substitutes. You could also get a “Chopped Cheese” and “Chickpea Salad” from the Sub Roll section, or maybe some “Loaded Fries” or four crispy “Buffalo Bleu Strips” from the Specialties section.

Of course, considering “biscuit” is literally in the name, there are some tasteful biscuit options to choose from as well. Try the shop’s classic flaky oat buttermilk biscuit with some butter and apple butter, or maybe its “Country Gravy and Biscuits,” which you can get in a small or a large.

If you’d like some sauce on the side of your meal, make sure you have 75 cents. You can get dill ranch, buffalo, maple mustard, bleu cheese, barbecue, or spicy mayo on the side.

Winter Park Biscuit Company offers Coke product fountain drinks, tea and lemonade, bottled beverage, and even beer and wine — both bottled and tap!

Whether you’re vegan or just experimental, the items on this shop’s menu are sure to leave you pleasantly surprised!

The Dining Experience and More

Because Winter Park Biscuit Company is located inside East End Market, there isn’t much room to have an in-house dining experience.

You can either seat yourself at the shop’s high countertops on the sleek black barstools and watch and wait for your order to be made, or you can choose to eat at the East End Market’s outdoor seating located in front of the store.

Albeit a smaller area, this company still found a way to make it stylish! The counters have plenty of small potted plant life, and the big neon sign reading the shop’s namesake accompanied by a stunning shot of one of their very own biscuits give this eatery plenty of personality.

Overall

If you’re looking for a spot to eat to your vegan heart’s content, then look no further. The menu may not be super extensive, but there are certainly some options that you just can’t find anywhere else. Plus, you get to check out all the other shops and dining experiences in the East End Market while you’re there, making for the perfect reason to come back for more!
