Character Corner

From the outside, Character Corner looks like your average tourist souvenir shop. On the inside however, it’s a treasure trove of vintage and collectible theme park merch. There’s also friendly staff to teach you all about the history of the parks! Located right off of 192, I stopped by this week to see all of the one of a kind wares this shop has to offer.

The Shop

Immediately upon entering this store, I could see that this is no ordinary souvenir shop. I had seen many Disney collectors post about Character Corner on social media, but I was not prepared for how many super cool items they had to offer! Of course this shop does have some standard tourist items for sale like Florida magnets and luggage. However, the majority of their shop was filled with unique items that every Disney collector would be envious of.

One of the employees told me that this shop is family owned and opened its doors 16 years ago. They hand select items from people who bring them in, and there are so many different pieces that they have to offer from Disney pins to vintage cups and cookie jars!

Souvenirs and Collectibles

When you enter the store, on the left hand side you will find all of the vintage items, which the employee told me was anything that was 30 years old or older. Here, I found artwork, mugs, cookie jars, Christmas decorations, and many other items that were all theme parks or Broadway focused. In the middle of the shop, they have racks of shirts that were so much fun to look through. Many being shirts from previous years at the parks, like a Flower and Garden Festival shirt from 2006, and a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party shirt from 2016.

On the right hand side of the shop there were tons of collectibles, and I mean thousands! Particularly, there were so many pins as well as a variety of bags to display the pins in. I really enjoyed seeing all of the different pins from throughout the years, each varying on price depending on the rarity. They also had other collectibles like Loungeflys, Funko Pops, VHS and DVDs, and magazines and books.

Overall

If you are looking for a one of a kind souvenir shop in Kissimmee that has more than just your average tourist wares, check out Character Corner! I seriously could have spent all day looking at all of their different items, and it was also neat to talk to other collectors and the employees while I was there! Even if you can’t visit soon, keep your “pin” up! There are new items to see everyday!
