The History

The area that is now Baldwin Park was once home to the Orlando Army Air Station back in the 1940’s through the 1960’s. Eventually, the land was turned over to the US Navy to make the NTC (Naval Training Center Orlando), a significant military facility that operated from 1968 until its closure in 1996. After the base was decommissioned, the land was redeveloped into the thriving community it is today.
