Community Spotlight: Four Corners

By Holley Long

Do you know about Four Corners? You may have heard it’s a part of Osceola County, or Orange County, but the truth is, it takes up a lot of real estate, and, as more and more turn an eye towards it, it will only continue to grow. Read more about this community that seems to have it all below!

What is Four Corners?

Four Corners is a suburban community that spreads across four counties: Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Polk. It is the only community in Florida located in four counties. The area is also known as Citrus Ridge, due to the orange groves and roadside stands selling produce throughout the area.

With a population of just about 56,000, Four Corners is still relatively small, but due to its location it is one of the fastest growing areas around Orlando.

Where is it?

Four Corners lies along U.S. 192, or Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, a main tourism corridor. It’s about 25 miles from Orlando, and its neighboring communities include Horizon West, Bay Lake, and Celebration, so popular spots like Walt Disney World are just hop and a skip away.

Other popular spots aren’t far out of reach either. I-4 and State Road 429 run through Four Corners, making a trip to Downtown Orlando, Universal Orlando Resort, or Dr. Phillips easy for residents.

Schools

Since multiple counties make up Four Corners, students can be zoned for four different public school districts: Lake County Schools, Polk County Public Schools, School District of Osceola County, and Orange County Public Schools. What school system children attend depends on where in Four Corners they call home.

Neighborhoods and Pricing

Because of its proximity to so many tourist attractions, Four Corners has many vacation rental communities, making it a great area to invest in property. We’ve highlighted a few of the top communities in the area below!

ChampionsGate

Located in the city of Championsgate, this gated community of new homes was designed with luxury in mind. With indoor and outdoor amenities like a spa, golf course, and mini water park, residents and vacationers alike can relax and enjoy a recreation-heavy lifestyle.

The community has single and multi-family homes, some with water views and some situated right off the golf course. The home prices start in the low $400's, rising to the mid $700's, with other communities in the area, like Champions Pointe, starting in the high $300's.

Calabay Parc

This Davenport community of holiday villas is meant to be a peaceful oasis. The villas range in size from three to six bedrooms, and many have a private pool and spa to relax in between park days. Amenities throughout the community include boating and fishing on Tower Lake.

Homes in the Calabay Parc community can start in the high $300's, with the average price in the mid $400's.

Reunion

Located in the Osceola County part of Four Corners, Reunion has a number of communities containing condos and homes that welcome long-term and short-term residents. The amenities within include tennis and basketball courts, sports fields, a community clubhouse with a restaurant, and a private water park.

Reunion is one of the most popular areas to purchase investment and vacation properties, and depending on which area within Reunion you buy, single family homes can range from the mid $500's up to the multi-millions.

Something Four Corners will see more of in coming years is affordable, long-term housing. Apartment complexes are under construction to provide those who work in the area a more comfortable living experience without breaking the bank.

Things to do in Four Corners

As mentioned, Four Corners is not far from popular spots, so a fun time is not out of reach!

Restaurants

Four Corners starts the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway strip on the west side, and along it are established and new places. While the highway is seeing some revitalization, restaurants already open include a Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, and a new Arby’s.

Also along the strip are unique restaurants, like Portillo’s - a Chicago-style eatery serving hot dogs, Italian beef, and Maxwell Street Polish. Another unique spot, the California-based restaurant Lazy Dog, opened recently, serving home cooked meals in-house or in old fashioned TV dinner-style trays.

Theme Parks

Walt Disney World is a popular pastime for residents of Four Corners, because of its close proximity. The theme park is just 10 to 15 minutes from the area, making whimsy and magic just a dream away.

But, Disney World isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. For those who are fans of theme park rides but aren’t fans of typical theme park prices, the Kissimmee location of Fun Spot America in Old Town makes for a more affordable outing. With exciting roller coasters, fast go karts, and carnival-style attractions, it’s fun for the whole family.

Shopping

There’s no shortage of places to shop around Four Corners. Staples like Walmart, Target, and Publix are not too far, but for more “fun” shopping sprees residents can visit Sunset Walk, an entertainment, dining, and shopping district near Margaritaville Resort Orlando. Stores include Skechers, Naples Soap Company, and River Street Sweets.

Disney Springs, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, is of course close by. There, visitors can buy anything from athletic wear at Lululemon, purses and bags at Kate Spade, or even T-shirts and souvenirs from World of Disney.

Overall

The proximity of Four Corners to Orlando’s theme parks and major roadways makes it an ideal place for tourists to vacation, as well as a location for a permanent home. Like neighboring communities, it offers a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of more metropolitan areas, and with new houses being built and businesses opening constantly, the time is perfect to call the area home!
