Coming at us from the streets of New York City to the 407 is Orlando’s latest and greatest spot for fine Asian cuisine: KungFu Kitchen. It’s all the rage in Lake Buena Vista, and its lines are leading out the door. Let’s check it out!
All About KungFu Kitchen
KungFu Kitchen is a New York-based Chinese restaurant that recently opened a location in Lake Buena Vista on Palm Parkway in the Vista Centre Shoppes.
This restaurant is well known in the Big Apple for its hand-pulled noodles and steamy bao buns. Now, KungFu Kitchen finally opened a location here in Orlando just last month, bringing all that savory goodness to us.
All of KungFu Kitchen’s noodles and bao are handmade fresh every single day, so you’re sure to chow down on some fine, authentic tastes.
You can stop by and feast on the flavors yourself Sunday through Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The KungFu Flavors
You probably know all your house favorites when you order Chinese takeout, but at KungFu Kitchen, they’re bringing much more to the table. They specialize in two foods: noodles and bao, and there are plenty of ways you can order between the two!
You can order stir-fry ramen or hand-cut noodles with beef, chicken, or roast duck. If you don’t like your noodles stir-fried, you can order them with soup instead.
There’s also xiao long bao made with pork, crab meat and pork, and chicken. If neither of those are your thing, you can order KungFu dishes like marinated sliced beef, beef and tripe in chili oil, marinated pig ears, and cucumber salad.
Outside of noodles and bao, KungFu Kitchen also serves dim sum and dumplings. You can get your dumplings steamed or fried and filled with chicken or pork. We tried the fried chicken dumplings and steamed pork dumplings, and coupled with savory soy sauce, they were mouthwateringly delicious!
Dim sum dining includes turnip puffs, Shanghai spring rolls, steam shrimp dumplings, steam red bean buns, red bean puffs, taro puffs, and pumpkin mochi cakes.
Inside The Restaurant
Dining at KungFu Kitchen is nothing short of authenticity. Through each bite, you can taste every bit of passion put into their meals.
The walls and ceilings are adorned with intricate wooden fixtures that light up the room with plush seating that make for a cozy dining environment. The red walls showcase the Chinese culture, along with slatted wooden chairs and wall separators.
This place definitely gets busy, and the wait times can be a little less than desirable when dining on a busy Friday night. The food and vibes, however, made the experience worth it!
If you find yourself craving authentic Chinese flavors and want something outside of takeout, KungFu Kitchen is the place to be. Their extensive menu tests all kinds of taste buds and challenges diners to try things outside of their ordinary pallet. Whether you’re visiting Lake Buena Vista on a Disney vacation or you’re simply an Orlando native in search of good eats, KungFu Kitchen will not disappoint!
