It’s finally time to take part in the annual Magical Dining event that takes place all over Orlando. Last year, we wrote a beginner’s guide to Magical Dining, so if you're new to the area, this event will be a pleasant surprise for you! Organized by Visit Orlando, Magical Dining offers an exciting way to enjoy the best local food while also making a positive impact on the community by supporting a great cause.
What is it?
Marking its 18th year, Magical Dining is one of the best bargain events to occur in Orlando's culinary scene. Going on every day until October 1, 2023, participating restaurants transform their offerings into limited-time 3-course or 5-course menus, exclusively for this event.
For the modest price of $40 or $60 per person, depending on the restaurant (plus tax and gratuity), patrons are treated to an appetizer, entree, and dessert, with some establishments going the extra mile and offering additional courses!
The lineup for this year's Magical Dining is impressive, boasting a total of 132 participating restaurants to choose from, including some MICHELIN-recognized designations!
Whether you're seeking gluten-free options, vegan delights, or a specific cuisine type like Italian or American, all of the featured locations and their price points can be found on their website. You can also book your reservations ahead of time online, which is definitely recommended for night time plans!
The Hampton Social | $40 Per Person
For our first Magical Dining stop this year, we decided to try out The Hampton Social at Pointe Orlando on International Drive. Their three-course menu is $40 per person, and we found the price was perfect for the amount that we could barely finish!
For our shareable appetizer, we chose to have a delicious creamy chowder, which was followed by the softest short rib anyone could imagine. Since dessert was also included, we couldn’t resist trying their Banana Cream Pie and it was easily the best choice we made.
Coming out to just $42 with tax, Magical Dining really comes out to be one of the easiest ways to have a day out in the town or have an incredible date night without having to break the bank.
Supporting the Community
With every meal purchased, up to $2 is donated to support local causes. This year, the partnership between Visit Orlando and Magical Dining extends to The Lifeboat Project. This organization is dedicated to shedding light on the pressing issue of human trafficking and empowering survivors through various initiatives like aftercare, residential programs, and education.
The proceeds from this year's event will be instrumental in providing mental health counseling, facilitating trauma recovery, and aiding efforts in preventing and educating about human trafficking.
In addition, Visit Orlando will also donate $2,000 to one local nonprofit in each of Orange County's six commission districts that align with the cause, ensuring a widespread influence on the community!
