Explore Windermere Single-Family Homes For Sale
Real estate in Windermere is incredibly desirable—and this is especially true for the centrally-located homes that are on or near the waterfront. The Windermere real estate market itself is made up entirely of single-family homes, and although price point ranges slightly, most of the properties for sale fall into the luxury category. The town, although small in size, is quite affluent, and attracts many looking for a second home or vacation property.
Single-family homes in Windermere are available in two main property types: the older bungalows (built in the 1960s and 1970s), and the newer, multi-story estates. Whilst the former typically begin at lower price points than the latter, homebuyers will find that the majority of properties have been well-maintained and recently updated/renovated. So whilst these homes have older construction dates, many do still have the desirable open floor plan, updated kitchen, and sleek, modern finishes.
Newer detached homes vary more in architectural style and, because of their height, often have much greater square footage than some of the bungalows in the area. Homebuyers can find properties built in the very popular traditional Florida styles, as well as some Mediterranean and Cottage designs. Homes situated along the lakes—Lake Butler, Lake Down, Lake Bessie, Lake Crescent—rise significantly in price point, and are some of the most sought-after homes in Windermere.
In regards to interiors, like square footage, this varies from property to property. The older bungalows of Windermere, although renovated, often retain some of their charming characteristics. This can mean the original flooring and fireplaces, as well as exposed brick walls. In general, single-family homes for sale in Windermere offer high ceilings, modern interiors, and backyard pools.
As mentioned above, the desirable lakefront properties do also have the priceless views and the private docks—perfect for spending time outdoors in the summertime. As these luxury homes are often custom builds, each property has its own unique features—which can include home theaters, game rooms, home offices, and more.
