This morning, May 24th, Mayor Buddy Dyer addressed the city of Orlando about its current state, including recognitions and accomplishments over the past year, opportunities, and introducing “The Promise of Orlando”. 

“The Promise of Orlando is hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of individual stories that are being written in our community every single day”, said Mayor Dyer, “and those stories, our stories, are the measurement of the state of our city.”

Once again, new and exciting projects are coming to the City Beautiful. Plans that were underway have been scrapped, but there are still a few things to get excited about. Let’s check it all out!

O-Town West

O-Town West is one of Orlando’s latest and greatest developments, and loads of new amenities are coming to this community.

This 350-acre development is a healthy mix of residential apartment living and food options, including Jeff’s Bagel Run, which will be opening its third location in this community.

O-Town West will also have 1,600 Marriott World Vacations employees working in the buildings around the area.

Changes are coming to Orlando’s Lake Nona region, and some of them are pretty big. Here are a few of the major changes addressed at the Spring 2023 Lake Nona community meeting that are coming to the area.

A New Library

After countless petitions and signatures, Lake Nona finally got approved by the Orange County Library System in the summer of 2022 to receive a library on Dowden Road.

This new library will be built next to the impending Southeast Government Center west of Narcoosee Road and east of the Orlando International Airport. It is expected to employ around 20 employees and will be complete with a shared stage and outdoor space.
