Proper: Orlando's First Vinyl Hi-Fi Listening Room and Bar

Proper is Downtown Orlando’s newest bar, and it comes with a twist! What makes this bar so unique is that it is the first craft cocktail & vinyl hi-fi listening room in Orlando.

The Atmosphere

Proper is the perfect spot to grab a drink and chill, with vinyl records lining the shelves and nostalgic music playing throughout the bar. The sophisticated atmosphere and warm lighting welcome you in as you order a cocktail, grab a seat, and enjoy the classic tunes. 

The structure and interior design are Mid-Century Modern, a style that has recently been making a comeback. The atmosphere encourages a calmer night, chilling and conversing with friends rather than partying as a lot of other bars downtown encourage. 

Proper is also owned by the same owners of Hanson’s Shoe Repair, another bar that offers a place to relax in an otherwise rowdy downtown. The only way to keep the atmosphere calm is to limit the number of people in the bar at a time, meaning you have to make a reservation before you show up.

Cocktails and More

The bar is specially curated for those who love good cocktails and good music, so their cocktails and bartenders are wonderful. They only offer a Charcuterie and Cheese board in terms of food, but that's so as to not take away from the rest of the experience.

They can make any cocktail you’re in the mood for, with the highly trained bartenders always delivering the best quality. If you’re in the mood for wine or champagne, you can also buy a full bottle for your table to enjoy.

The Music

The DJs take customers back to a simpler time when instead of pressing buttons on a phone or computer, they actually had to know how to work with records. The experience makes you appreciate the music and the artists more, and it’s never too loud to block out a conversation.

Though it is a vinyl bar, the use of modern technology really brings the music to the next level. The vinyl collection is so large, you can request any song and it’s almost a guarantee they will have it! Since you can get involved in the music choices and level of sound, Proper truly is a sociable bar, making it the perfect place to visit and catch up with friends.
