Nestled into the western part of Central Florida sits a town even Santa would be proud to call home - Christmas, Florida! Just like its namesake, here you can find Christmas decor all year long, historical sites, and streets named after the holiday season.

History

The history of the town dates back to, well, Christmas! Army soldiers arrived on December 25, 1837 and started construction on a fort which was used during the Second Seminole War. They named the fort Fort Christmas after the day on which they had arrived.

A post office was opened in 1892, and the rest was history! The town is mentioned in the book Paper Towns by John Green and sculptor James Hughlette “Tex” Wheeler was raised and buried here.
